Six Bureaucrats entrusted responsibilities as Special Secretaries

As many as six IAS officers have been assigned new administrative roles as Secretaries at the Centre.

The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved in-situ upgradation of six IAS officers to the level of Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.

The appointments are seen as a measure personal to the officers by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them as given below:

 IAS Anurag Agarwal, IAS (PB:1990)

Currently: Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of External Affairs

Appointed as:  Special Secretary & Financial Advisor, Ministry of External Affairs.

 IAS  Chandra Sekhar Kumar (OD:1992)

Currently Serving as: Additional Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj

Appointed as:  Special Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj.

 IAS Punya Salila Srivastava (AGMUT:1993)

Currently serving as: Additional Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office

Appointed as: Special Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office.

 IAS Tanmay Kumar (RJ:1993)

Currently serving as: Additional Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change

Appointed as:  Special Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.

 IAS Amit Agrawal (CG:1993)

Currently serving as: Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India

Appointed as:  Chief Executive Officer, Unique Identification Authority of India in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India.

IAS Deepti Gaur Mukerjee (MP:1993)

Currently serving as: Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority

Appointed as:  Chief Executive Officer, National Health Authority in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India by restoring the post to Secretary level.
