As many as 7 officers have been appointed to foreign/captive posts under the Dept of Economic Affairs and Dept of Commerce. The officers are:
- Ravi Kota(IAS, AM:93) for the post of Minister(Economic), Joint Secretary level in the Embassy of India, Washington DC, USA under the Ministry of Dept of Economic Affairs.
- Rajeev Topno, (IAS, GJ:96) for the post of Senior Adviser(Joint Secretary level) to The ED, World Bank, Washington DC under the Dept of Economic Affairs.
- Lekhan Thakkar, CSS for the post of Counsellor(Economic) at Director level, Embassy of India, Beijing in China under the Dept of Economic Affairs.
- H. Atheli(ICAS:2000) for the post of Adviser(Director level) to ED, Asian Development Bank, Manila in Philippines, under the Dept fo Economic Affairs.
- Bajendra Navnit(IAS, TN:99) for the post of Ambassador & PRI at Joint Secretary level to the WTO, Geneva in Switzerland under the Dept of Commerce.
- Anwar Hussain Shaik (IRTS:2000) for the post of Counsellor(Director level), PMI to WTO in Geneva in Switzerland under the Ministry of Commerce.
- N. Ashok Kumar (IAS, MN:2004) for the post of Adviser (Industry and Engineering) at Director level Embassy of India Brussels in Belgium under the Dept of Commerce.
