ACC Approves Senior IAS Appointments: Tejveer Singh Named Chemicals Secretary, Sanjay Lohiya Elevated in Finance Ministry
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared another set of significant appointments involving senior IAS officers, reinforcing leadership across key government departments.
Shri Tejveer Singh (IAS, Punjab cadre, 1994 batch), who was serving in his parent cadre, has been appointed as Secretary in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers.
He will succeed Ms. Nivedita Shukla Verma (IAS, Uttar Pradesh cadre, 1991 batch), who has been reassigned as Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. She has also been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Secretary in the Department of Pensions and Pensioners’ Welfare.
In another key development, Shri Sanjay Lohiya (IAS, Assam-Meghalaya cadre, 1994 batch), currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Mines, has been elevated to the position of Special Secretary in the Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance. This elevation has been made possible by temporarily upgrading a vacant Joint Secretary-level post within the department.
Furthermore, Shri Lohiya is slated to assume charge as Secretary in the Department of Financial Services following the retirement of Shri Nagaraju Maddirala (IAS, Tripura cadre, 1993 batch), who is due to superannuate on May 31, 2026.
These appointments underline the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen administrative leadership and ensure continuity in critical financial and industrial sectors.
