Telangana Government Executes Major IPS Reshuffle: 32 Senior and Mid-Cadre Officers Transferred Across Key Police Formations

In a sweeping overhaul of Telangana’s police leadership structure, the state government has issued a comprehensive transfer order affecting 32 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across multiple wings of the police administration. The large-scale reshuffle—one of the most extensive in recent months—was formalized through G.O.Rt.No.1632, released by the General Administration Department (SPL.B).

The move is intended to optimize manpower distribution, reinforce supervisory mechanisms, and strengthen operational delivery in urban centers, district police units, and specialized agencies.

Senior Leadership Reassignments: Major Positions Realigned

Devendra Singh Chauhan Elevated to ADGP (Personnel)

Veteran IPS officer Devendra Singh Chauhan of the 1997 batch has been appointed Additional Director General of Police (Personnel) at the DGP headquarters. In addition to this primary role, he has been entrusted with the full additional responsibility of ADGP, Multizone-II, Hyderabad, which is a key oversight position covering multiple crucial ranges.

Parimala Hana Nutan Jacob Moves to CID

J. Parimala Hana Nutan Jacob (IPS 2009), who previously held the position of Joint Commissioner of Police (Administration) in Hyderabad City, has now been posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Criminal Investigation Department (CID)—a significant role within the state’s investigative machinery.

Srinivasulu Appointed Additional CP (Crimes)

Officer Srinivasulu (IPS 2006), earlier serving as Inspector General of Police in CID, has been transferred to Hyderabad City Police as the Additional Commissioner of Police (Crimes), where he will oversee major criminal investigations and detection operations.
