Telangana: Shifting 45 IAS officers across key departments & districts

The Government of Telangana has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 45 IAS officers across key departments and districts to strengthen governance and improve administrative efficiency.

The changes affect senior officials, including Special Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, District Collectors, and other top bureaucrats.

Key Senior-Level Transfers

Sanjay Kumar to Rural Development

Sanjay Kumar, previously Special Chief Secretary of Industries and IT (ITE&C), has been appointed Special Chief Secretary for:

Rural Development (RD)

Rural Water Supply & Sanitation (RWS&S)

Rural Sanitation & Drinking Water (RSAD)

He replaces N. Sridhar in these roles.

N. Sridhar to ITE&C

N. Sridhar has been reassigned as Principal Secretary of:

ITE&C

Industries & Commerce

He will also continue to hold Full Additional Charge (FAC) as Principal Secretary, Mines & Geology.

Welfare, Labour & Disaster Management

Sabyasachi Ghosh, Special Chief Secretary handling Flagship Welfare and Developmental Schemes, will now also oversee Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

M. Dana Kishore, Special Chief Secretary (Labour, Employment, Training & Factories), has been given FAC as Special Chief Secretary, Disaster Management (Revenue Department).

Rahul Bojja, Principal Secretary (Irrigation & CAD), has been moved to Principal Secretary, Political, General Administration Department, and given FAC of BC Welfare.

E. Sridhar has been posted as Secretary, Irrigation & CAD Department.

Finance & Planning

Dr. Gaurav Uppal has been appointed Secretary, Finance & Planning Department.
He will also hold FAC as Managing Director of Telangana Medical Services & Infrastructure Development Corporation (TGMSIDC).

Several District Collectors have been reassigned, including:

Adwait Kumar Singh → Special Secretary (Coordination), Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi

M. Hanumantha Rao → Director, Endowments

Sikta Patnaik → Special Secretary, Finance

Sandeep Kumar Jha → Jangaon Collector

Pamela Satpathy → Special Commissioner, Labour

Anuraag Jayanti → Yadadri Bhuvanagiri Collector

Rahul Raj P.S → Special Commissioner for Cooperation

Jitesh V. Patil → Chairman & MD, TGSPDCL

Rizwanbasha Shaik → Jogulamba Gadwal Collector

Prateek Jain → Narayanpet Collector

Sneha Shabarish → Mahabubabad Collector

Chitra Mishra → Karimnagar Collector

Deepak Tewari → Vikarabad Collector

Pratima Singh → Medak Collector

Ankit → Bhadradri Kothagudem Collector

Chahat Bajpai → Hanamkonda Collector (retaining FAC as Municipal Commissioner, GWMC)

Khushboo Gupta → Mahabubnagar Collector

Several Additional Collectors and municipal officials have also been reassigned to strengthen local administration.

Purpose of the Reshuffle

The Telangana government aims to:

Strengthen both state-level and district-level administration

Improve coordination in Finance, Irrigation, Labour, and Welfare sectors

Ensure smooth implementation of flagship development schemes

Maintain leadership continuity through Full Additional Charge (FAC) arrangements

Overall, this large-scale reshuffle reflects the government’s effort to enhance administrative efficiency, improve public service delivery, and ensure stronger governance across Telangana.
