The Appointment Committee of Cabinet has approved the in-situ upgradation of the following officers, who have been empanelled to hold Secretary equivalent posts in the Govt of India has been appointed as Special Secretary in the rank and pay of Secretary. The officers are:
- T. Jacob, IAS(TN:84) Secretary, Union Public Service Commission.
- Smita Nagaraj, IAS(TN:84) DG Acquisition, Ministry of Defence.
- Nikhilesh Jha, IAS(MN:84) Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution.
