Uttar Pradesh Government Transfers Eight IAS Officers in Major Bureaucratic Reshuffle

In a significant administrative shake-up following recent police department transfers, the Uttar Pradesh government has transferred eight senior IAS officers, triggering discussions across various departments.

According to the official order:

  • Rakesh Kumar Singh, who previously served as Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA). In addition, he has been given additional charge as CEO of Noida International Airport, marking a key dual responsibility in infrastructure and aviation development.

  • Alok Kumar, currently serving as Principal Secretary, Planning and Programme Implementation, has been entrusted with multiple additional responsibilities. He will now also serve as Principal Secretary, Reorganisation Coordination, as well as Language, National Integration, and General Administration. Furthermore, he has been appointed Director of the Hindi Institute, while continuing in his existing role.

This reshuffle is seen as part of a broader administrative realignment by the state government to strengthen governance and streamline departmental functions.
