In another strategic move, senior IAS officer V Hekali Zhimomi (IAS:1996:Uttar Pradesh), currently Additional Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, has been assigned additional charge as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Mission (NHM).
The ex-post facto approval for this appointment is effective from May 22, 2025, for a period of six months or until a regular appointment is made, or until further orders. This assignment was also cleared by the ACC and reflected in the July 11 DoPT order.
Earlier this year, in a similar move, L. S. Changsan (IAS:1994:Assam-Meghalaya), another Additional Secretary in the same ministry, received ex-post facto approval on April 15, 2025, to hold additional charge as CEO of the National Health Authority (NHA) for one year, starting August 22, 2024.
IPS Officer Asif Jalal’s Tenure in BSF Extended by Two Years
The deputation tenure of IPS officer Asif Jalal (IPS:2002:Himachal Pradesh) as Inspector General (IG) in the Border Security Force (BSF) has been extended by two years, beyond the original end date of September 23, 2025. This extension was granted by the ACC and included as part of the July 11 DoPT notification.
The tenure extension was approved as a relaxation to the IPS Tenure Policy, based on a recommendation from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Asif Jalal was first appointed as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs on September 15, 2020, for a five-year term. He later assumed charge as IG in BSF in February 2022, with a combined deputation period originally set to conclude in 2025. With the new extension, he will now serve in the BSF until September 2027, or until further orders.
