Senior IPS Officer Vijay Prakash Appointed as CISF Additional Director General
The Government of India has appointed Shri Vijay Prakash (IPS: 1996, UP Cadre) to the prestigious post of Additional Director General (ADG) in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) approved the appointment on October 3, 2025, with his tenure set to continue until December 14, 2028, or until further orders.
A Distinguished Career Path
Shri Prakash brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having most recently served as an Inspector General (IG) in the CISF. His career is distinguished by a series of timely promotions, rising to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in 2011, Inspector General (IG) in 2014, and now to ADG.
Expertise and Accolades
An officer with a strong academic foundation, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Forensic Science. His operational and administrative expertise has been honed in critical positions, including his previous role as the Additional Director General of Fire Services for Uttar Pradesh and as an IG in the CISF’s vital Airport Sector.
