The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has approved the appointment of IAS officer Vishal Gupta (2012 batch, Gujarat cadre) as Private Secretary to Union Minister for Culture & Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. His tenure will be for five years, or co-terminus with the Minister’s term, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
Mr. Gupta is expected to play a vital role in supporting the Minister’s office through strategic planning, policy coordination, and high-level administrative functions across both ministries. His background in governance is seen as an asset to the role.
In a separate development, IPS officer Dinesh Kumar P (2009 batch, Uttar Pradesh cadre), currently serving as DIG of Police, Basti Range, has been cleared for central deputation. His specific posting at the central level will be announced in due course.
