Tamil Nadu Government has reshuffled significant positions where Mangat Ram Sharma has been appointed ACS of PWD, J Jayakanthan to lead Water Resources.
Chennai: In a major administrative move, the Tamil Nadu government has appointed senior IAS officer Mangat Ram Sharma (1992 batch) as the new Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) of the Public Works Department (PWD).
Additionally, J Jayakanthan, a 2005 batch IAS officer, has been assigned the role of Secretary, Water Resources Department.
These appointments are part of the state’s broader strategy to bolster infrastructure development and enhance water resource management. Mangat Ram Sharma, widely recognized for his expertise in governance, will now spearhead critical infrastructure and public development projects under the PWD.
Meanwhile, J Jayakanthan steps into a crucial leadership role at a time when sustainable water management and modernization of infrastructure have become key priorities for Tamil Nadu.
