Neeraj Mittal Given Additional Charge as Secretary, MeitY

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the temporary assignment of Mr. Neeraj Mittal, IAS (TN:1992), as Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). Mr. Mittal, who is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, will hold this additional charge from June 2 to June 6, 2025, during the leave period of Mr. S. Krishnan, IAS (TN:1989).

With deep expertise in technology policy, investment facilitation, and governance, Mr. Mittal is well-positioned to oversee MeitY’s operations during this brief tenure.
IRS Officer Satyabrata Kumar Repatriated to Indian Revenue Service

In a separate decision, the ACC has approved the premature repatriation of Mr. Satyabrata Kumar, IRS (C&IT:2004), from central deputation. Mr. Kumar, who was serving as Special Director of Enforcement in the Directorate of Enforcement, will return to his parent cadre—the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes)—with immediate effect.
