In a notable administrative reshuffle, the Chhattisgarh government, led by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, has transferred eight IPS officers from the 2021 batch to various key postings across the state. The Home Department issued the transfer orders as part of a strategic move to enhance policing efficiency, especially in sensitive and high-priority regions.

New Appointments to Strengthen Policing in Key Districts

The transfers are aimed at reinforcing the police force in Naxal-affected and strategically significant districts, bringing in young, dynamic officers to lead law enforcement efforts on the ground.

Udit Pushkar, who previously served as City Superintendent of Police (CSP), Jagdalpur, has been appointed Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Dantewada.

Akash Kumar Shukla, formerly posted in Raigarh, will now serve as ASP, STF Durg.

Rohit Kumar Shah has been transferred from Surguja to take charge as ASP, Sukma.

Ravindra Kumar Meena, earlier serving in Korba, will now assume the role of ASP, Bijapur.

Aman Kumar Jha, who was CSP Raipur, is now appointed as ASP, District Bijapur.

Aakash Shrishrimal, previously a CSP, has been posted as ASP, Bhanupratappur.

Ajay Kumar, formerly CSP Civil Lines, Raipur, has been transferred as ASP, District Narayanpur.

Akshay Pramod Sabadra, who was CSP Bilaspur, will also join District Narayanpur as ASP.

Strategic Focus on Sensitive Regions

This reshuffle reflects the state government’s focus on strengthening policing infrastructure in conflict-prone regions such as Dantewada, Sukma, Bijapur, and Narayanpur. These areas have long been at the forefront of Chhattisgarh’s security challenges due to ongoing Left-Wing Extremism (LWE) concerns.

By deploying officers from the 2021 batch—who bring fresh perspectives, advanced training, and a proactive mindset—the government aims to invigorate law enforcement, improve public engagement, and bolster administrative efficiency.

Senior officials believe the move will not only improve field-level operations but also contribute to building greater public trust in the police administration, particularly in vulnerable and underserved regions.

This reshuffle is part of the Chhattisgarh government’s broader effort to ensure effective governance and responsive policing across the state.
