Rajasthan: DGP Posted RPSC Chairman; 4 Names Sent to UPSC for New DGP Post

Rajasthan’s Director General of Police (DGP), Utkal Ranjan Sahoo (IPS: 1988: RJ), has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). He will serve in this position until June next year, as the retirement age for the RPSC chairman is 62 years.

With Sahoo’s transition to the RPSC, the process of appointing a new full-time DGP for the state is now underway. According to sources, the Rajasthan government has forwarded four names to the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for consideration, in accordance with the prescribed procedure.

The shortlisted IPS officers include:

  • Rajeev Kumar Sharma (IPS: 1990: RJ)

  • Sanjay Agrawal (IPS: 1992: RJ)

  • Anil Paliwal (IPS: 1994: RJ)

  • Anand Shrivastava (IPS: 1994: RJ)

The final selection will be made by UPSC from among these senior officers.
