Leadership Transition: HUDCO Appoints Baldeo Purushartha as Govt Nominee Director

IAS officer Baldeo Purushartha has joined the board of HUDCO, bringing with him extensive expertise in infrastructure policy and planning to accelerate housing and urban development initiatives.

In a strategic decision aimed at strengthening governance and policy oversight, the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Ltd. (HUDCO) has appointed Baldeo Purushartha, a 2002-batch IAS officer from the Punjab cadre, as Government Nominee Director on its board. The appointment, effective immediately, was confirmed through a regulatory filing on Monday.

Extensive Administrative Expertise

Currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Infrastructure Policy and Planning Division of the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India, Purushartha brings a distinguished track record in public administration and infrastructure management. Over his career, he has held several pivotal roles at both the state and central levels, including Divisional Commissioner of Jalandhar and Secretary to the Lokpal in Punjab.

His professional repertoire encompasses infrastructure planning, policy formulation, and governance—expertise that positions him to make a significant contribution to HUDCO’s mandate of financing housing and urban development projects nationwide.
