Uttar Pradesh Government Orders Major Administrative Reshuffle: Two IAS and Eight PCS Officers Assigned New Roles Across Key Departments

The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has executed a substantial administrative reshuffle involving two IAS officers and eight PCS officers across various departments and districts of the state. The transfers, formally announced through an official notification issued on Thursday, reflect the government’s focus on enhancing administrative efficiency and improving governance delivery at multiple levels.

IAS Officers Receive New Departmental Responsibilities

As part of this reshuffle, Ramesh Kumar, a senior IAS officer from the 1995 batch, who was serving as Special Secretary in the Minority Welfare Department, has now been reassigned to the Department of Science and Technology. His shift places him in a key department responsible for driving scientific innovation, research initiatives, and technological advancements within the state.

In a corresponding move, Sheeldhar Singh Yadav, an IAS officer from the 2014 batch, who previously held the position of Special Secretary in the Department of Science and Technology, has been transferred to the Minority Welfare Department. With this new charge, Yadav will oversee schemes and welfare programs targeted at minority communities, ensuring smoother implementation of state-led initiatives.

PCS Officers Assigned to New Strategic Positions

The reshuffle also includes transfers of several PCS officers who have been placed in crucial field and administrative roles across Uttar Pradesh.

Hari Pratap Singh, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Etawah, has been posted to the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) as Deputy District Magistrate. This region holds major industrial and infrastructural significance, making his new posting particularly important.

Arvind Kumar Mishra, who was previously on the waiting list, has now been appointed as SDM Noida, a high-pressure administrative region with substantial development activities.

Vishal Saraswat, a newly inducted PCS officer, has been posted as a trainee SDM in Ambedkar Nagar, marking the beginning of his field-level administrative exposure.

Revenue Council-Associated PCS Officers Also Moved

Several PCS officers linked to the Revenue Council have also been transferred to new assignments as part of the broader restructuring.

Swati Shukla, who has been working as Deputy Director (Child Development and Nutrition), will continue to hold the same role under her revised administrative arrangement.

Prateek Tripathi has been appointed SDM Rampur, entrusting him with key responsibilities in a district known for its administrative complexity.

Santosh Kumar Ojha has been transferred as SDM Mirzapur, an important posting in a district with ongoing development activities.

Vivek Rajput has been assigned charge as SDM Rae Bareli, a politically and administratively significant district.

Priyanka, who earlier served as SDM Badaun, has now been elevated to the position of Additional District Magistrate (Judicial) in Gautam Buddha Nagar, a major administrative center encompassing Noida and Greater Noida.

Restructuring Aims to Strengthen Governance and Operational Efficiency

The Yogi government’s decision to implement these transfers is widely viewed as part of a strategic effort to streamline administrative operations, improve coordination, and ensure effective delivery of public services. By positioning experienced officers in key roles and providing fresh assignments to newly appointed officials, the state aims to energize governance mechanisms at both departmental and district levels.

The new postings are expected to accelerate administrative processes, support ongoing development programs, and reinforce the overall efficiency of the state’s bureaucratic machinery.
