Bihar Government Transfers 5 Senior IAS Officers; Mihir Kumar Singh Named New Development Commissioner
The Bihar government has carried out a significant reshuffle in the state administration, moving five senior IAS officers to new positions and giving extra responsibilities to several others. These changes were formally announced through a notification issued by the General Administration Department.
Mihir Kumar Singh Appointed as Bihar’s Development Commissioner
1993-batch IAS officer Mihir Kumar Singh has now taken over as the new Development Commissioner of Bihar. The position had been lying vacant after the retirement of S. Siddharth.
Before this appointment, he was working as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Transport Department and was also handling the Industries Department as an additional charge.
CK Anil Takes Over Revenue and Land Reforms Department
Senior officer CK Anil, from the 1991 batch, has been posted as the Principal Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department. He previously worked with the Bihar State Planning Council and brings extensive administrative experience from his advisory role in the State Planning Board.
Deepak Kumar Singh Becomes DG, General Administration
Another key change includes the posting of Deepak Kumar Singh (IAS 1992 batch) as the Director General (Investigation Commissioner) in the General Administration Department.
Earlier, he served as Additional Chief Secretary in the Rural Works Department. His new position puts him in charge of major administrative and inquiry-related responsibilities.
Kundan Kumar Returns to Bihar as Industries Secretary
IAS officer Kundan Kumar (2004 batch) has been brought back from his posting at Bihar Bhawan in New Delhi and appointed as the new Secretary of the Industries Department. He will also manage several additional roles, including responsibilities for Bihar Bhawan, BIADA, and Investment Commissioner in Mumbai.
Sanjay Kumar Singh Gets Expanded Role
2007-batch officer Sanjay Kumar Singh has been posted as the Secretary of the Commercial Tax Department.
Along with this, he has also been assigned duties as Special Officer in the Home Department, increasing his administrative workload.
Kaushal Kishore Handling Two Divisions
IAS officer Kaushal Kishore (2010 batch), currently serving as the Commissioner of Darbhanga Division, has been given the additional responsibility of Tirhut Division in Muzaffarpur until further instructions.
Raj Kumar Shifted to Transport Department
Officer Raj Kumar, who was earlier working in Muzaffarpur, has now been made the Secretary of the Transport Department, taking over from the outgoing officer who has moved to a new posting.
Other Departmental Adjustments
In another update, B. Karthikeya Dhanji, Secretary of the Water Resources Department, has been relieved of his extra charge of the Industries Department.
Purpose of the Reshuffle
This reshuffle is intended to improve the working of different government departments, balance administrative duties, and enhance overall efficiency in the state machinery.
