The Government of India has formally approved the re-designation of the Deputy Secretary–level post held byMr Prasad Arvind Chafekar, marking a significant administrative update within his current ministry. This decision, issued through an official memorandum, modifies the designation associated with his role and grants him responsibilities that align more closely with the evolving operational requirements of his department.

The re-designation is intended to acknowledge the officer’s professional expertise, his consistent performance, and the substantial responsibilities he has been undertaking in his existing capacity. By changing the nomenclature of his post, the government aims to streamline his functions and ensure that his work profile is better aligned with the administrative demands placed upon him. This revision is also reflective of the broader efforts undertaken by the Centre to rationalize senior positions under the Central Staffing Scheme.

As per the order, the modification of his post is personal to the officer, meaning it has been approved based on the nature and scope of the duties he currently handles. The re-designated post enables Shri Chafekar to participate more directly in policy formulation, inter-departmental coordination, programme supervision, and various high-level tasks that require greater decision-making authority.

The concerned ministry and its administrative division have been directed to make the necessary entries in official service records, update cadre documentation, and ensure that all procedural steps related to the re-designation are completed without delay. The decision signifies the government’s confidence in Shri Chafekar’s leadership abilities and his capacity to contribute meaningfully to the strategic objectives of the ministry.
