Government Elevates IAS Officer Neeraj Kumar Singh as Private Secretary at Director Level to MoS Jitin Prasada in Ministry of Electronics and IT
The Competent Authority has given its formal approval to the proposal concerning the re‑designation of the post of Private Secretary (at Deputy Secretary level) to the Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Jitin Prasada. The position, which is presently held by Shri Neeraj Kumar Singh, IAS (Madhya Pradesh cadre, 2012 batch), has now been elevated to the rank of Private Secretary (at Director level) in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
This re‑designation has been sanctioned as a measure personal to Shri Singh. It will take effect from the date on which he assumes charge of the newly designated post. The tenure of this appointment has been fixed until 29 September 2030, or will continue on a co‑terminus basis with the Minister, or until Shri Singh ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders are issued — whichever of these conditions occurs first.
The order reflects the government’s recognition of Shri Singh’s professional service and ensures continuity in the functioning of the Minister’s office. By elevating the role to Director level, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology underscores the importance of strengthening leadership and administrative support in advancing its policy and governance objectives.
