Shweta Teotia Appointed Director in Environment Ministry; ACC Clears Lateral Shift from LBSNAA
In a notable bureaucratic development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Shweta Teotia as Director in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change.
Lateral Shift Under Central Staffing Scheme
Shweta Teotia, a 2011-batch IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, is currently serving as Deputy Director (at Director level) at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA).
Her new appointment has been approved on a “lateral shift” basis under the Central Staffing Scheme.
Tenure Details
The tenure will continue up to February 17, 2030
This period represents the balance of her five-year deputation tenure at the Director level
The appointment will be effective until further orders or completion of tenure, whichever is earlier
Role in Environment Ministry
In her new role at the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Shweta Teotia will be involved in:
