ACC Extends Deputation of Bishnu Charan Mallick as Census Director Rajasthan Till 2027

In an important administrative decision, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the extension of central deputation tenure of Bishnu Charan Mallick, who is currently serving as Director of Census Operations (DCO) and Director of Citizen Registration (DCR) in Rajasthan under the Ministry of Home Affairs.

 Tenure Extended Till 2027

As per the official order, Bishnu Charan Mallick will continue in his current role with an extended tenure up to April 30, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

 Upgradation to Joint Secretary Level

The extension also includes continuation of the upgradation of his post to the level of Joint Secretary for the fourth year. This reflects the importance of the responsibilities handled in census and citizen registration work.

 Key Responsibilities

In his dual role, Mallick oversees:

Census operations in Rajasthan
Implementation of citizen registration processes
Data collection and demographic analysis
Coordination with central and state agencies

These functions are critical for policymaking, welfare planning, and governance.

 Administrative Significance

The extension comes at a crucial time as census-related activities and citizen database management remain high-priority areas for the government.

Continuity in leadership is expected to ensure smoother execution of large-scale data operations and administrative coordination in the state.
