41 Officers Empanelled for Jt Secy Rank by ACC Across IAS, IPS, IRS & Central Services

In a major administrative development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the empanelment of 41 officers from multiple civil services for appointment at the level of Joint Secretary or equivalent in the Government of India. The decision, cleared on April 21, 2026, marks a significant milestone in the careers of these officers, making them eligible for senior policymaking roles at the Centre.

Officers from Diverse Services Selected

The empanelled officers come from a wide range of services, reflecting the government’s approach to bringing diverse administrative experience into key decision-making positions. These include officers from the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), Central Secretariat Service, Indian Railway services, and the Indian Audit and Accounts Service.
