In a troubling incident that has raised serious questions about security in high-profile government residential areas, unidentified miscreants allegedly broke into the official residence of senior IAS officer Bishnupada Sethi in Bhubaneswar’s Forest Park locality and stole valuables, including gold ornaments and cash.

According to preliminary reports, the intruders are believed to have scaled the boundary wall of the residence before committing the theft. The matter came to light when valuables were found missing, prompting Sethi to lodge a formal complaint at the Capital Police Station.

Police have registered a case and launched a probe. Investigators are examining possible entry and exit points and reviewing CCTV footage from the vicinity to identify the culprits. Early indications suggest the theft may have occurred during a period when the residence was inadequately guarded, though official confirmation is awaited.
