Textile Secretary Neelam Shami Rao Launches AI-Powered Bharat Tex 2026 Mobile App Ahead of India’s Mega Global Textile Event
: Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary in the Ministry of Textiles and a 1992-batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh cadre, on Tuesday launched the Bharat Tex 2026 Mobile App, a unified digital platform developed to enhance the experience of exhibitors, buyers, delegates and visitors participating in Bharat Tex 2026, India’s flagship global textile event.
The newly launched application has been designed as a comprehensive digital companion for stakeholders across the textile industry and reflects the event’s technology-driven and digital-first approach focused on business networking, seamless engagement and visitor convenience.
Officials said the app will serve as a one-stop digital interface for accessing event-related services, business opportunities, schedules and real-time information during the four-day international textile exhibition.
Bharat Tex 2026 to Be Held at Bharat Mandapam
Bharat Tex 2026 is scheduled to be held from July 14 to July 17, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.
The large-scale global textile event is expected to witness participation from across the international textile and apparel ecosystem. Organisers anticipate the presence of more than 7,000 international buyers along with over 1.3 lakh trade visitors from India and abroad.
The exhibition will showcase India’s complete and integrated textile value chain, covering segments such as fibres, yarns, fabrics, garments, home textiles, technical textiles, handlooms, handicrafts and sustainable textile solutions.

The virtual assistant will provide round-the-clock support and enable users to ask event-related questions in simple language. The system will instantly provide information regarding venue details, event schedules, directions, booth locations, conference timings and general assistance.
The feature is expected to improve accessibility and simplify navigation for both domestic and international participants visiting Bharat Mandapam.
Officials said the AI assistant is aimed at creating a smoother and more interactive visitor experience while reducing dependence on physical help desks.
Smart Networking and Business Matchmaking Features
The application also includes advanced networking and business engagement modules intended to facilitate structured B2B interactions during the event.
Participants will be able to discover relevant business contacts, send meeting requests, schedule appointments and manage interactions directly through the app interface.
The integrated Lead Wallet and QR-enabled lead capture system will allow exhibitors and buyers to scan digital badges and securely save professional contact details for future communication and business follow-up.
