The Central Government has appointed Shri Ankit Chauhan, an IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre (2013 batch), as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Heavy Industries, New Delhi, under the Central Staffing Scheme. The appointment has been made by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) following his recommendation for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The posting marks another important inter-ministerial deputation of an Indian Police Service officer to a key policy position in the Union Government. Following the recommendation and the prescribed selection process, the Department of Personnel and Training approved his appointment to the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
The DoPT has also requested the Ministry of Home Affairs to relieve the officer immediately so that he can join his new assignment without delay.
