Jain was serving as Senior Controller of Accounts in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in New Delhi before being moved to her new assignment. The latest order brings her into the PFMS Division, an important component of the government’s financial management architecture.
In her new role, Jain will be associated with the functioning of the PFMS framework, which supports the monitoring and management of government finances and facilitates the electronic flow of funds across various government schemes and programmes.
The PFMS has become an important part of the Centre’s efforts to improve financial transparency, strengthen expenditure monitoring and ensure more efficient management of public funds. The system provides a technology-enabled platform for tracking government releases and payments and plays a key role in strengthening the overall public financial management system.
As Deputy Controller General of Accounts, Jain will take up a senior responsibility within the Office of the CGA. The position involves financial management and accounting responsibilities within the Union government’s institutional framework, along with coordination on matters relating to government accounts and financial systems.
Jain belongs to the 2011 batch of the Indian Civil Accounts Service, a specialised service responsible for accounting, financial reporting, payment systems and related financial management functions of the Government of India. Officers of the service are posted across different ministries and departments as well as specialised financial institutions and divisions.
Her previous assignment as Senior Controller of Accounts in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions provided her with experience in handling financial and accounting matters at the ministry level. Her move to the PFMS Division represents another significant responsibility in the government financial management system.
The latest posting is part of the routine administrative movement of senior officers within the Indian Civil Accounts Service and the wider financial administration structure of the Union government.
