IRSSE officer Dinesh Kumar Vashishtha has been transferred from Western Railway and posted as Executive Director (Efficiency & Research) in the Railway Board.
In a significant administrative reshuffle within the Indian Railways, Dinesh Kumar Vashishtha, a senior officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers (IRSSE), has been transferred from Western Railway and posted to the Railway Board as Executive Director (Efficiency & Research).
Vashishtha was serving as Chief Signal and Telecommunication Engineer (Works) [CSTE(W)] with Western Railway (WR) before his latest posting. Under the new assignment, he will move to the Railway Board, the apex policy-making and administrative body of Indian Railways.
The appointment places Vashishtha in a key position dealing with matters related to efficiency and research within the railway system. The post is expected to involve examining operational practices, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency and supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening the performance of the country’s vast railway network.
As a senior IRSSE officer, Vashishtha brings specialised expertise in railway signalling and telecommunications. These systems are central to the safe and efficient operation of trains, particularly as Indian Railways continues to modernise its signalling infrastructure and adopt increasingly technology-driven systems.
During his tenure with Western Railway, Vashishtha was associated with the organisation’s signalling and telecommunication works in his capacity as CSTE(W). The role carries important responsibilities relating to railway communication and signalling infrastructure, including the planning, implementation and maintenance of systems that support train operations.
His move to the Railway Board comes at a time when Indian Railways is placing growing emphasis on technological modernisation, operational efficiency, safety and research-backed improvements across its network.
