MP Government Appoints 1998-Batch IPS Officer Anshuman Yadav as ADG Intelligence and Cyber
The Madhya Pradesh government has appointed 1998-batch IPS officer Anshuman Yadav as the state’s new Additional Director General of Police (ADG) for Intelligence and Cyber. Yadav, who was earlier serving as Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department, has now been moved to the Police Headquarters in Bhopal to take charge of the crucial intelligence wing.
Along with his new assignment as ADG Intelligence, Yadav has also been given additional responsibility for the Cyber wing. The latest administrative change comes ahead of the retirement of outgoing ADG Intelligence A. Sai Manohar, who is set to vacate the position.
Anshuman Yadav Gets Key Intelligence Assignment
Anshuman Yadav, a senior IPS officer of the 1998 batch, has been shifted from the Sports and Youth Welfare Department to the state’s intelligence establishment. He will now oversee the Intelligence wing from the Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters in Bhopal, a position that carries significant responsibility within the state’s internal security and policing framework.
The appointment places Yadav in charge of one of the most sensitive wings of the Madhya Pradesh Police. The Intelligence wing deals with gathering and assessing information relevant to law and order, security and other matters concerning the state, making the ADG’s role an important one within the police hierarchy.
Additional Charge of Cyber Wing
The government has also entrusted Yadav with the additional charge of the Cyber wing. This means that his new responsibilities will extend beyond traditional intelligence functions and will also include oversight of the state’s cyber-related police operations.
The decision comes at a time when cyber-related issues have become an increasingly important part of policing and internal security. With Yadav holding responsibility for both Intelligence and the Cyber wing, the latest posting gives him a wider portfolio at Police Headquarters.
Succeeds A. Sai Manohar
Yadav’s appointment comes as outgoing ADG Intelligence A. Sai Manohar approaches retirement. He will take over the Intelligence assignment as the state prepares for the change in leadership of the important police wing.
The transition marks a change at the top of Madhya Pradesh’s Intelligence establishment. Yadav’s movement from the Sports and Youth Welfare Department to Police Headquarters also represents a significant shift in his administrative responsibilities.
From Sports and Youth Welfare to Police Headquarters
Before this appointment, Yadav was serving as Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department. His latest posting now brings him back into a core police assignment, with responsibility for Intelligence and additional charge of Cyber.
The new role gives the senior IPS officer a completely different set of responsibilities from his previous departmental assignment. He will now be based at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal and will handle the state’s intelligence responsibilities while also overseeing the Cyber wing in an additional capacity.
Senior IPS Officer Gets Wider Responsibility
The appointment of Anshuman Yadav as ADG Intelligence and the additional allocation of the Cyber portfolio represents an important administrative change in the Madhya Pradesh Police. His long experience as a senior IPS officer will now be utilised in two strategically important areas of the state’s policing structure.
With A. Sai Manohar nearing retirement, the government has chosen Yadav to take charge of the Intelligence wing. His simultaneous responsibility for Cyber also gives the new arrangement a broader scope, bringing two increasingly important areas of policing under his supervision.
The latest move is therefore significant not only because of the change in the Intelligence leadership but also because of the additional Cyber responsibility assigned to Yadav. He will now play a key role from Police Headquarters in Bhopal as Madhya Pradesh’s police administration enters this new phase of senior-level leadership.
