The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved extensions in the central deputation tenures of several senior officials serving in crucial ministries, including Defence, Justice, Agriculture, and Science & Technology.
Notable extensions include:
Kumar Ravi Kant Singh, IAS (UP:2008), currently Joint Secretary in the Department of Military Affairs, has been granted a two-year extension in his central deputation tenure, effective beyond June 1, 2025, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
Niraj Kumar Gayagi, IDAS (1997), Joint Secretary in the Department of Justice, will continue in his current role until April 6, 2026. This extension completes his six-year tenure under central deputation.
Sanjay Garg, IAS (KL:1994), Additional Secretary in the Department of Agricultural Research & Education and Secretary of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), has been granted a one-year extension beyond August 24, 2025, now serving until August 24, 2026, or until further notice.
Prof. Abhay Karandikar, currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Science and Technology, has also been granted a one-year extension, effective from July 1, 2025, or until further orders.
