Rajesh Aggarwal, a senior IAS officer from the 1989 batch (Maharashtra cadre), has been given additional charge as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs. He currently serves as Secretary in the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan).
As per an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Mr. Aggarwal will hold the additional post from May 14 to May 23, 2025, during the leave of Chandra Sekhar Kumar (IAS: 1992: Odisha cadre), the current Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs.
This temporary appointment aims to ensure uninterrupted administrative functioning of the Ministry in Kumar’s absence. Mr. Aggarwal is a seasoned bureaucrat with extensive experience in social welfare, disability empowerment, and policy implementation.
