ACC Assigns Additional Charge of NCR Planning Board Member Secretary to IAS Officer N. Saravana Kumar
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted formal approval for the allocation of additional responsibilities to Mr N. Saravana Kumar, IAS (BH:2000). He has been entrusted with the additional charge of the post of Member Secretary, National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
According to the official decision, Mr N. Saravana Kumar, who is currently serving as Vice Chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, will hold this additional assignment alongside his existing duties. The arrangement will remain in force until a regular incumbent is appointed to the post or until further orders are issued, whichever occurs earlier.
The move ensures continuity in the functioning of the National Capital Region Planning Board, a key statutory body responsible for coordinated planning and development across the National Capital Region, which includes Delhi and adjoining areas of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. By assigning the additional charge to a senior and experienced officer already handling major urban development responsibilities, the government aims to maintain administrative stability and effective decision-making within the NCRPB.
Mr N. Saravana Kumar’s expanded role is expected to strengthen inter-agency coordination and support ongoing and future planning initiatives critical to infrastructure development, regional planning, and sustainable urban growth in the NCR.
