Amit Yadav Given Additional Charge as Secy, DEPwD; Aravind Kumar M K Prematurely Repatriated to Punjab Cadre

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), to Mr. Amit Yadav, IAS (AGMUT cadre, 1991 batch).

IAS Amit Yadav is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment and will hold the additional charge from June 23 to July 2, 2025, during the leave of Mr. Rajesh Aggarwal, IAS (Maharashtra cadre, 1989 batch).

Mr. Amit Yadav, a senior civil servant with over three decades of administrative experience, was born on November 2, 1965, in Rajasthan. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1991 at the age of 25. As Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, he has been instrumental in spearheading major social welfare initiatives and policy reforms.

IAS Aravind Kumar M K Repatriated to Parent Cadre (Punjab)

In a separate development, Mr. Aravind Kumar M K, IAS (Punjab cadre, 2011 batch), who was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Power, has been prematurely repatriated to his home cadre. The repatriation comes with the condition of an “extended cooling-off” period.
