FSIB Chairperson and Members Granted One-Year Extension

In a series of significant administrative developments, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued fresh orders impacting senior-level bureaucrats in the Government of India.

Premature Repatriation of Anil Kumar Singhal

Anil Kumar Singhal (IAS:1993:AP), currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy under the Ministry of Education, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre of Andhra Pradesh on personal grounds.

According to the DoPT order dated July 2, 2025, the competent authority has approved his repatriation, which includes an extended cooling-off period. Singhal had taken charge in October 2024, succeeding Vipin Kumar (IAS:1996:BH).

FSIB Leadership Gets Another One-Year Extension

In a separate development, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved a one-year extension in the tenure of Bhanu Pratap Sharma, Chairperson of the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB), along with its part-time members.

Their extended term will now be effective until June 30, 2026, or until further orders.

This is the second consecutive annual extension granted to the FSIB leadership, indicating continued government confidence in the Bureau’s functioning. FSIB remains the nodal body for selecting top executives in public sector banks and financial institutions.
