The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has granted formal approval for the appointment of Shri Anupam Anand, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2000 batch from the Gujarat cadre, as the new Joint Secretary of the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), Ahmedabad, functioning under the Department of Space.

According to the official order, Shri Anand will assume charge of his new assignment from the date he formally takes over the post. His tenure has been fixed for a period of five years, or until further directions are issued by the Government of India, whichever occurs earlier.

He will succeed Shri Lochan Sehra, IAS, who was previously holding the position. The appointment is aimed at strengthening administrative leadership within IN-SPACe, which plays a critical role in promoting private sector participation and regulating non-governmental space activities in India.

The induction of a senior officer with extensive administrative experience is expected to further enhance IN-SPACe’s operational capacity and policy implementation framework under the Department of Space.
