Appointments Committee of the Cabinet Approves Premature Repatriation of IAS Officer Prashant Kumar Goyal to Parent Cadre

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has formally sanctioned the proposal regarding the early repatriation of Shri Prashant Kumar Goyal, a senior officer of the 2007 IAS batch from the Tripura (TR) cadre.

Shri Goyal, who has been serving in the capacity of Joint Secretary within the Department of Financial Services, is set to return to his home state administration ahead of his scheduled tenure completion.

This administrative decision comes with a significant procedural caveat: the imposition of an extended “cooling off” period. Under standard civil service regulations, this mandate requires the officer to serve in their parent cadre for a prolonged duration before becoming eligible for any future central deputation or federal assignments.

This move highlights the rigorous adherence to the Central Staffing Scheme guidelines concerning the movement of All India Services officers between state and union governments.
