In a recent administrative reshuffle, the Delhi Administration has transferred and posted five IPS officers of the AGMUT cadre serving with Delhi Police, with immediate effect. The move aims to bolster strategic divisions across the force amid growing security and law enforcement demands in the capital.
Dr. Sagar Preet Hooda (IPS, 1997 batch) has been appointed as the Special Commissioner of Police (Intelligence Division). He will also hold additional charge of the Perception Management & Media Cell Division, as well as SPUWAC & SPUNER, units focused on tackling crimes against women and children.
Atul Katiyar (IPS, 1997 batch) has taken over as Special Commissioner of Police (Welfare), tasked with overseeing welfare initiatives and staff well-being within the department.
Sanjay Kumar (IPS, 1997 batch) will now serve as Special Commissioner of Police (Training), a crucial position responsible for shaping police training and capacity-building efforts.
Mangesh Kashyap (IPS, 2009 batch) has been appointed as Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime), at a time when Delhi Police is intensifying its crackdown on organized and cyber crime.
Sweta Chauhan (IPS, 2010 batch) has been named Additional Commissioner of Police (Security), where she will oversee security protocols for high-profile events and VIP movements in the national capital.
Though part of routine cadre management, these high-level changes are seen as a strategic effort to reinforce leadership in critical wings of Delhi Police ahead of major national events and ongoing security challenges.
