ACC Extends Central Deputation of IAS Officer Baldeo Purushartha as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the proposal of the Department of Economic Affairs for the extension of the central deputation tenure of Shri Baldeo Purushartha, IAS (PB:2002), who is presently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department.
As per the official order, Shri Baldeo Purushartha’s tenure on central deputation has been extended for a further period of one year beyond March 11, 2026. The extension will remain valid until March 11, 2027, or until further orders are issued, whichever is earlier.
An Indian Administrative Service officer of the 2002 batch belonging to the Punjab cadre, Shri Purushartha has been playing a key role in handling critical responsibilities within the Department of Economic Affairs. The approval of his tenure extension ensures administrative continuity in the department’s functioning at a time when economic policy coordination and financial governance remain central to the government’s agenda.
The extension has been granted in accordance with the rules governing central deputation under the applicable service framework.
