GoI Appoints Bidyarani Konthoujam & Manoj C as Directors in Election Commission

In a bid to strengthen the administrative framework of the Election Commission of India (ECI), the Government of India has appointed two senior officers—Bidyarani Konthoujam of the Indian Revenue Service and Manoj C of the Indian Police Service—as Directors in the ECI, Delhi. These appointments fall under the Central Staffing Scheme.

The appointments were officially announced via an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday, May 29, 2025.
Bidyarani Konthoujam Appointed Director, ECI

Bidyarani Konthoujam, a 2009-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes), has been deputed to the Election Commission as Director. Her appointment was recommended by the Department of Revenue.

She will serve in this role for five years from the date she assumes charge, or until further orders—whichever comes earlier. The DoPT has instructed that she be relieved from her current post immediately to join her new assignment.
IPS Officer Manoj C Also Appointed as Director, ECI

Manoj C, a 2011-batch IPS officer from the AGMUT cadre, has also been appointed as Director in the Election Commission, Delhi. His deputation was recommended by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

He will serve a tenure of five years or until further instructions are issued. The officer has been directed to assume his new responsibilities in Delhi without delay.
