Haryana Police Reshuffle: 10 IPS and HPS Officers Transferred, Rajesh Kumar Gets SP Law and Order Charge
The Haryana government has ordered a fresh reshuffle of the state police establishment, transferring and posting 10 IPS and Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers with immediate effect. The latest orders bring changes in several important policing assignments covering law and order, crime investigation, railway policing, specialised units and district-level responsibilities.
One of the key appointments in the reshuffle is that of 2014-batch IPS officer Rajesh Kumar, who has been posted as Superintendent of Police (SP), Law and Order. Along with his primary responsibility, Kumar has also been given additional charge of SP, Special Task Force (STF) and SP, Social Outreach, Panchkula.
The latest orders affect police leadership and specialised assignments across Panchkula, Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Ambala, Sonipat and Bahadurgarh, making it a wide-ranging administrative exercise involving both IPS and HPS officers.
Rajesh Kumar Gets SP Law and Order Responsibility
The most prominent change in the latest orders concerns Rajesh Kumar, IPS, a 2014-batch officer who has now been entrusted with the post of SP, Law and Order.
The assignment places him in charge of an important area of the state’s police administration, while his additional responsibilities expand his role across specialised policing and public outreach.
Kumar will also hold additional charge as SP, Special Task Force (STF) and SP, Social Outreach, Panchkula. The combination of these responsibilities means that his new portfolio covers conventional law-and-order duties as well as specialised policing and outreach-related work.
The STF assignment is linked to specialised operations, while the Social Outreach responsibility involves the police department’s engagement with the community and related initiatives.
Several IPS Officers Shifted
The reshuffle also brings new responsibilities for a number of other IPS officers posted in different parts of Haryana. Parbina P, IPS, has been posted as SP, Government Railway Police, Ambala Cantt, relieving Nitika Gahlaut of the charge. The appointment places Parbina in charge of policing responsibilities connected with the Government Railway Police establishment at Ambala Cantt.
Railway policing has its own operational requirements, including maintaining security at railway premises, coordinating with railway authorities and handling crimes and incidents involving passengers and railway property.
Rajesh Mohan, IPS, has been posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Faridabad. The posting gives him responsibility for policing in the central part of the Faridabad commissionerate.
Another significant appointment is that of Prateek Gahlot, IPS, who has been posted as DCP, Manesar. He will additionally hold charge as Commandant, 4th India Reserve Battalion (IRB), Manesar.
The dual assignment gives Gahlot responsibilities at both the commissionerate level and within the state’s reserve police structure.
New DCPs for Gurugram and Faridabad
The reshuffle also includes changes in important crime and district policing positions in Gurugram and Faridabad. Ayush Yadav, IPS, has been posted as DCP, South, Gurugram. The assignment gives him responsibility for policing in the southern part of the Gurugram commissionerate.
In Faridabad, Jaibir Singh, IPS, has been posted as DCP, Crime, Faridabad. His new responsibility is focused specifically on the crime wing, placing him in charge of the policing setup dealing with crime investigation and related enforcement work in the commissionerate.
The appointment of a new DCP for the crime portfolio comes alongside the broader changes being made in district and specialised policing assignments. Meanwhile, Narinder Singh, IPS, has been posted as SP, State Crime Branch (SCB).
The State Crime Branch is a specialised component of the Haryana Police structure and handles cases and investigations requiring expertise beyond routine district-level policing.
HPS Officers Also Included in Reshuffle
The latest orders are not confined to IPS officers. Three Haryana Police Service officers have also received new assignments. Usha Devi, HPS, has been posted as SP, State Crime Branch (SCB) and SP, Social Outreach.
Her new responsibilities combine specialised crime-related work with a social outreach portfolio, giving her charge across two different areas of police administration. Jitender Gehlawat, HPS, has been posted as DCP, Gohana, with additional charge of DCP, Crime, Sonepat.
The appointment gives Gehlawat responsibility for policing in Gohana while also assigning him the additional crime portfolio for Sonepat. The dual charge links district-level policing with crime-related responsibilities in the wider area. Hitesh Yadav, HPS, has been posted as DCP, Bahadurgarh.
The appointment brings a new officer into the DCP-level leadership structure at Bahadurgarh, adding to the changes being made across the state’s district policing network.
Reshuffle Covers Law and Order, Crime and Specialised Units
Taken together, the latest Haryana Police orders touch a broad range of responsibilities. The geographical spread is equally broad, with changes affecting Panchkula, Faridabad, Gurugram, Manesar, Ambala Cantt, Gohana, Sonepat and Bahadurgarh.
The reshuffle also reflects the way Haryana’s police administration combines IPS and HPS officers across district, commissionerate and specialised assignments. While IPS officers have received several of the key changes, HPS officers have also been entrusted with important district and specialised responsibilities.

The latest reshuffle consequently changes the distribution of policing responsibilities across multiple important districts and specialised units. With Rajesh Kumar taking charge as SP, Law and Order, along with additional responsibilities in the STF and Social Outreach, the reshuffle also brings together several specialised portfolios under fresh leadership.
