The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed Sharad Agarwal, a 1997-batch AGMUT-cadre IPS officer, as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Mizoram, succeeding Anil Shukla (1995-batch IPS).

About the New DGP

Current Role: Special Commissioner, Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Delhi Police

Key Expertise: Financial crime investigations, inter-agency coordination

Previous Experience:

Joint Director, CBI (with multiple tenure extensions)

Extensive service across AGMUT cadre postings
