The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has officially designated four senior IAS officers as Additional Chief Secretaries (ACS), formalizing their administrative status in line with their existing pay scale and responsibilities.

Key Appointments

The following 1991–1992 batch IAS officers have been granted the ACS designation:

Lakko Venkateshwarlu (IAS:1991:UP)

B.L. Meena (IAS:1991:UP)

Narendra Bhooshan (IAS:1992:UP)

Anurag Srivastava (IAS:1992:UP)

What This Means

These officers were already working at the ACS pay scale but were formally designated as Principal Secretaries until now.

The new order allows them to officially use the ACS title in all administrative communications.

The move recognizes their seniority, experience, and contributions to Uttar Pradesh’s governance.

Why It Matters

This administrative update:
Aligns official designations with functional roles and pay grades
Strengthens bureaucratic hierarchy by formalizing senior leadership positions
Reflects UP government’s efforts to streamline administrative structures

The decision is part of the state’s ongoing bureaucratic restructuring, ensuring that senior officers’ titles match their responsibilities and rank within the state administration.
