J&K: 2 Top Cops Transferred, 4 SP-Rank Officers Shifted; Alok Kumar Gets Additional Charge

In a key administrative reshuffle, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday announced the transfer of two senior IPS officers and issued posting orders for four SP-rank officers from the Telecom cadre who had been awaiting adjustment.

According to an official communication

SJM Gillani, a 1994-batch IPS officer currently serving as Managing Director, J&K Police Housing Corporation, and also holding additional charge as Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, has been transferred and appointed as Special DG Coordination at Police Headquarters (PHQ). He will continue to hold the additional charge of MD, J&K Police Housing Corporation.

Alok Kumar, a 1997-batch IPS officer and present Director, J&K Fire and Emergency Services, has been entrusted with additional charge as Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence and SDRF, J&K, alongside his current role.

Telecom Cadre SP-Rank Postings

In a separate order, four SP-rank officers from the Telecom cadre, previously awaiting adjustment, have now been posted against available vacancies:

Fayaz Yasin Dar appointed as SP Telecom, Kashmir Zone

Akthar Hussain Buch appointed as Staff Officer to DPT

Javid Iqbal Attar appointed as SP Telecom, ACS Kashmir

Satish Kumar appointed as SP Telecom, ACS Jammu

These personnel movements are part of the government’s broader effort to enhance operational efficiency and streamline administrative functioning within the J&K Police Department.
