Senior IAS officer K. Manjulakshmi has taken charge as the Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), marking a key administrative appointment at a time when Pune’s urban expansion is accelerating rapidly.
Her appointment is expected to strengthen infrastructure execution and enhance coordination across departments involved in major development projects.
Assumes Charge at PMRDA
K. Manjulakshmi formally assumed office on Friday and was welcomed by Metropolitan Commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari.
Soon after taking charge, she conducted a review of ongoing projects and outlined her priorities, focusing on improving coordination and ensuring timely completion of key initiatives.
Speaking on her new role, she said she would work under the guidance of the Metropolitan Commissioner to enhance inter-departmental coordination and expedite project delivery.
Focus on Infrastructure and Urban Expansion
With Pune witnessing rapid growth, Manjulakshmi emphasized the need for faster implementation of infrastructure projects and efficient governance mechanisms.
Her appointment comes at a crucial juncture, as several large-scale urban development works are currently underway across the metropolitan region.
