K Nikhila Assigned Additional Role as Secy & CEO of Telangana Human Rights Commission

K Nikhila, a 2015-batch IAS officer from the Telangana cadre, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Secretary and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Telangana State Human Rights Commission. She will hold this charge alongside her current role as CEO of the Telangana Institute of Rural Development (TGIRD).

This dual appointment reflects the Telangana government’s confidence in her administrative acumen and her proven ability to lead institutions focused on governance, development, and rights-based initiatives.

Current Role at TGIRD

As CEO of TGIRD, which operates under the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, Nikhila has played a key role in designing and implementing training, research, and capacity-building programs. These initiatives have been pivotal in strengthening grassroots governance and fostering sustainable development across rural Telangana.

Responsibilities at the Human Rights Commission

In her new role at the Telangana Human Rights Commission, she will oversee the Commission’s operations, facilitate investigations into human rights violations, and ensure administrative coordination in line with provisions under the State List and Concurrent List of the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution.
