In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has transferred eight senior IPS officers, signaling a continued administrative overhaul following the change in state leadership.
Key Highlights
Sharada Raut, a 2005 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the newly established Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF). Prior to this, she was serving as the Joint Commissioner of the State Intelligence Department (SID).
Ravindra Shisve, a 2002 batch officer and former Commissioner of Railway Police, Mumbai, has been posted as Joint Commissioner, SID, replacing Sharada Raut.
Sharada Raut’s new role comes shortly after her return from central deputation at the CBI. Her appointment underscores the Maharashtra government’s growing focus on curbing drug trafficking and substance abuse. The state cabinet had earlier approved 346 new posts in the ANTF, reinforcing its commitment to a stronger anti-narcotics framework.
Other Notable Transfers
Supriya Patil Yadav (2004 batch) has been appointed Special IGP (Establishment) at the Maharashtra Police Headquarters following her return from central deputation.
Navinchandra Reddy, the outgoing Commissioner of Police, Amravati, will now serve as Joint Commissioner of Police, Nagpur. His replacement is yet to be named.
Nisar Tamboli, currently Joint Commissioner, Nagpur, has been designated Special IGP, State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Nagpur, succeeding Rajiv Jain.
Abhishek Trimukhe, Additional CP (North Region), has been shifted to the state police headquarters as Special IGP (Administration), taking over from Dr. Arti Singh.
Rajiv Jain will now serve as Special IGP, Coastal Security, while Dr. Arti Singh awaits her next assignment following her transfer from the IGP (Administration) post.
