In a notable administrative move, the Madhya Pradesh government has promoted senior IAS officer Manish Rastogi (1994 batch) to the position of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS). The General Administration Department issued the official order, with the appointment effective from June 1, 2025.

Previously serving as the Principal Secretary in the Finance Department, Mr. Rastogi will now take on expanded responsibilities following the retirement of Mr. Vinod Kumar, who served as ACS and Director of the Tribal Research Institute. His promotion is expected to bring seasoned leadership and enhance administrative efficiency, especially in critical areas of governance.

Renowned for his deep expertise in public administration and financial management, Mr. Rastogi has held various key roles across departments. During his tenure as Principal Secretary, he played a vital role in maintaining fiscal discipline and shaping budgetary strategies. As ACS, he will also oversee financial policymaking and the administrative operations of the Board of Revenue.

The promotion, sanctioned by Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, is seen as a recognition of Mr. Rastogi’s exemplary service and long-standing contributions to the governance of Madhya Pradesh.

This strategic elevation is viewed as part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the state’s fiscal and administrative systems. Mr. Rastogi’s new role is expected to drive forward economic and policy reforms, setting a dynamic course for Madhya Pradesh’s development priorities.
