IAS Officer Prashant Sharma has been appointed as General Manager of FCI, Lucknow Region.
The Central Government has approved the appointment of Prashant Sharma, a 2012-batch IAS officer, as the General Manager of the Food Corporation of India (FCI) for the Lucknow Region under the Department of Food and Public Distribution. Currently serving as the Special Secretary in the Uttar Pradesh government’s Energy Department, Sharma will assume his new role on deputation under the Central Staffing Scheme.
As per an official order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on March 18, Sharma’s appointment is for a tenure of three years, effective from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever comes first. The order also directs that he be relieved of his current responsibilities immediately to take up his new assignment at FCI.
An officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, Sharma brings a wealth of experience in public administration to his new role, where he will oversee FCI’s operations in the Lucknow region.
This appointment is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen public service delivery and governance through key administrative reshuffling.
