President Highlights the Role of a Modern Police Force and Stresses Expansion of Health Infrastructure Nationwide
At an interaction held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday, President Droupadi Murmu addressed the 77th batch of Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers, urging them to uphold honesty, empathy, and ethical conduct as the foundation of their careers in public service.

President Murmu reminded the young officers that although their powers stem from the law, their true legitimacy arises from their integrity and dedication to justice. She emphasized that a technologically adept and morally upright police force is crucial for realizing the vision of a “Viksit Bharat”—a developed, secure, and equitable India.
She also encouraged the probationers to cultivate transparency and accountability, asserting that the reputation of the police institution depends on the personal discipline and moral strength of its officers.
Paying Tribute to Former President K.R. Narayanan
On the same occasion, the President offered floral tributes to former President K.R. Narayanan on his birth anniversary, recalling his exemplary contribution to democracy, constitutional values, and inclusive governance.

President Murmu also met with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Inauguration of Yashoda Medicity, Ghaziabad
Earlier in the day, President Murmu inaugurated Yashoda Medicity in Indirapuram, Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), where she underlined the centrality of a robust healthcare system to national progress. She observed that accessible, quality healthcare is an essential pillar of a developed India and acknowledged the crucial role of hospitals and medical professionals in achieving this goal.
President Murmu lauded Yashoda Hospital’s contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, recognizing its support for public health initiatives, including the National TB Elimination Programme. She further encouraged continued participation in national missions combating sickle cell anaemia and other major health challenges.
