Promotion of 19 RAS Officers to IAS Expected Soon in Rajasthan

Senior officers from 1997 and 1998 batches likely to be elevated

The long-pending promotion of Rajasthan Administrative Service (RAS) officers to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) is expected to be finalized this month. Sources indicate that the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) is likely to hold the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting in the coming week. This year, 19 RAS officers are expected to be inducted into the IAS cadre.

Officers from 1997 and 1998 Batches in Contention
The promotion process includes experienced RAS officers from the 1997 and 1998 batches. Final selections will be made based on merit and Annual Confidential Reports (ACRs). The state government had earlier forwarded a list of 57 eligible officers to the Centre, from which 19 names are expected to be approved.

Probable Candidates for Promotion
According to sources, the following officers are likely to be among those promoted:

  • Gajendra Singh Rathore

  • Rakesh Kumar Sharma

  • Navneet Kumar

  • Sukhveer Saini

  • Jaswant Singh

  • Mahendra Khinchi

  • Jagveer Singh

  • Harsahay Meena

  • Jugal Kishore Meena

  • Lalit Kumar

  • Dr. Shiv Prasad Singh

  • Meghna Chaudhary

Transfer Orders Expected Post-Promotion
Following the promotions, the Rajasthan government is also expected to issue a long-awaited transfer list of IAS officers later this month. With over two dozen IAS posts currently lying vacant and several officers managing additional portfolios, the induction of newly promoted officers is anticipated to provide much-needed administrative support across the state.
