RS Officer BS Umesh Voluntarily Retires from Service

Senior Indian Revenue Service (IRS – Customs and Indirect Taxes) officer BS Umesh has taken voluntary retirement (VRS) from service, with the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) approving his request.

Until his retirement, Mr. Umesh was serving as Assistant Commissioner at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics (NACIN).

During his career, he held several significant roles, including that of Assistant Director in the Governance & Operations division. In this capacity, he played a key role in major initiatives such as asset monetisation, partnerships with the Capacity Building Commission, and overseeing GRIHA and other sustainability certifications.

Mr. Umesh’s service was distinguished by his commitment to institutional development, operational improvements, and capacity-building efforts within the indirect taxation framework. His VRS brings to a close a meaningful and impactful journey in public administration.
